„Ich hoffe, jemand wird mir sagen,
wie sie Frieden finden werden“
(Ausgagbe Nr.1 - März/April 2002)
Zwei junge Flüchtlinge aus Nablis beschreiben ihre Sorgen und Ängste ...
Von Ra’fat und Tariq

First came the war, a war that never ended, people killed and no one cared ... mothers lost their kids … no one knows ... Middle east ... Palestine, the capital of it is called Jerusalem and from here everything started ... people being killed, when they are praying in mosques and churches because they are Palestinian. Sometimes young people cannot go to school because of the danger. Sometimes they cannot go out of their houses (in the night) … What did they do? Why is this all happening? No one has an answer... Mr. Yasser Arafat (president of Palestine), the president of the USA, the King of Jordan, and the United Nations … all of them, one after the other ... all talking about Palestine and all say: We are looking for peace ... the president of Israel ... He says that too ... what has happened till now? ... Nothing has changed, everyday the Israeli army becomes wilder, worse, more powerful.
Plus, sometimes people cannot go to their jobs. When the person has an Israeli identity card he can go everywhere he likes, find a good job any place he wants and if he speaks their language that is even better - but what about the other people who have no identity cards or cannot speak the language, they must work in bad places, with a very silly salary and for sure its very hard.
Everyday when a person wakes up he asks, how many persons are killed today - what a question! And the answer is very bad all the time. The Israeli army destroyed Gaza airport, Yasser Arafat's house, TV station and some of magazines and the newspaper. By chance Arafat was in Jerusalem ... As I have said everyday: Palestinian people are killed and no one cares, but if an Israeli soldier dies they just open fire and start killing people with no stop ...
About Hamas: They are a big group of Muslims, have a very strong way of thinking with very hard roles, sometimes they are right ... but other times they are wrong. What they are doing exactly: At first they choose the person, then teach him how to fight, how to bomb himself, then they give him a place to do that ... they are killing themselves with bombing ... using TNT in places which have a lot of Jewish people. If they did that in an army's place that would be understandable, they hate Jews, but why they sometimes do and did that at places full of people, maybe Muslims, maybe Christians, maybe full of Jewish, who do not know what is going on ... Are they doing a good thing?
They are not finding any answer with what they are doing ... they just make it more and more difficult. Palestinian people have to face more than one way: Number 1: The Israeli army killing people whenever they want with no reasons. Number 2: The Palestinian army, helping the Israeli government find the wanted people, and they are helping them on the streets, tooNumber 3: Hamas, who are making the situation very bad with their ways of acting.
How can Palestinian people live? I hope someone will tell me how the Palestinian people can find freedom. One day my friend asked me if I have money, I answered no ... he said then we have to go to the other village to take money from my friend ... we went ... my village is called Nablis and the other one Jeneen ... when we want to go to any other village in Palestine we have to cross a part of the Israeli army... So we went to that transfair-place and they start talking: Where are you going ... we answered ... they said "no it is not allowed today“... I told my friend we can come back again tomorrow maybe these guys will have changed their minds, he said „I have to go today“... he tried to talk to them again, they start calling him bad things in their language I didn’t understand everything but when I look at my friend’s face I knew that the bad words would start to be pushing, then my friend started to call them the same ... my friend had a knife … he showed them that he had it and started playing with it. After all that ... I felt something wrong would happen, I told them „its okay we can forget everything and just let us go back home“... The Israeli army said no way... All are screaming at each other and suddenly one of those ugly guys shot my friend ... I shouted but didn’t know what to do. One of them could speak Arabic, he said ... „hey you, run away from here, leave him and run“... I didn't move … He said, „run“ in a screaming way. I tried to carry my friend and run away… I did that for about two or three meters, that soldier started shooting in the air ... my friend had already died … so I left him and ran ... I did that for along time and when I felt so tired I woke up to find myself away from home, my mother knew already what happened ... she held me for a long time and said „we have to tell his family about what happened.“
A story happened to a friend of mine: My friend was walking, going back from his work to home, suddenly he saw people fighting, he just ran away, when he was running, he felt that there was someone running after him, when he checked, he found a young guy (about 16 years old) ... he start talking to him, he was very afraid and needing help. My friend protected him in his house and did what he had to … like giving him warm feelings with new clothes... after that he knew he just protected a Jewish guy, someone knew that, my friend found himself in a very bad situation with Palestinian people at the door, the guy said „please man help me“ ... He just ran away from the kitchen windows to the neighbor's house and from there to the other street. That story made people talk a lot about him. Hamas knows about that and right now that man is wanted ...
Things maybe to help you: We don't need meetings or songs about Palestine, we just need someone or somewhere to have our freedom so that freedom never ends ... I mean the real freedom!
